Silas, Donna and Paul Walker grew up in a religious Memphis home. They had a loving mother and a loving father, but tragic events caused this family to divide in more ways than one, and a casual family affair ends up turning into a nightmare for the characters involved in it. Each sibling faced their own set of problems, but Paul’s situation caused him to have a serious meltdown. It's a Family Affair, takes us to the extreme on family values or lack there of, jealously and infidelity; but doesn't let us forget that you need GOD in any relationship to be successful.
This was a very interesting book, you may see some events that may have happened in your family or someone you know. It's definitely a roller coaster ride of emotions with an ending you wouldn't expect. Great read!

I picked this book up from Nubian Books in Atlanta, GA. A fantastic read. Sibling rivalry in a family can breed envy, jealousy and down-right hatred. Brothers Silas and Paul are caught up in some messy family drama. I was really surprised at what a womanizing friend of the family did to settle a debt that his best friend owed him. I thought the story line was developed in a wonderful manner, and the plot made me turn the pages. The characters are straight to the point, and they do not beat around the bush when it comes to speaking their mind. The ending could have been better, but overall it's a good read. I read the book in 2 nights.

Silas and Paul are brothers that are like night and day. Silas is the level-headed brother who always thinks things out before making a decision. Paul is careless with his decisions, and even more so with his finances. To complicate his matters even further, Paul is married to Sheila who refuses to work and is materialistic. Neither Silas nor the siblings' mother trusts Sheila and both feel that she is more of a hindrance to Paul than a help-mate.
Chris is Paul's best friend and is usually there to bail his friend out of his financial troubles. When things get really bad, Sheila goes to Chris for help too-only Paul doesn't know. Months have passed and Chris has found someone that he wants to settle down with. The trouble is that an agreement that he and Sheila made has backfired, causing not only a rift between the two best friends, but the entire Walker family. It's a Family Affair is a story of friendship and betrayal. It delves into the issue of how greediness can cause people to take extreme measures. It's the perfect of example of how when bad decisions are made it affects more than just the decision makers. This read was packed with deceit, drama, and suspense. Action packed through the last page, it was quite an eventful page turner.
