When I told the author that I would set aside the Robert A. Heinlein novel I was reading to finish Social Networking for Demons, I believe he was tickled black. 😈 Heinlein waited patiently while I took a delightfully sinful tour of the grittier side of the human psyche. Serving up distasteful yet savory slices of the lives of his characters, franklet uses a style of writing somewhat reminiscent of (a modern) Flannery O'Connor. Moreover, in the vein of quality science fiction writers, franklet also coins some clever terms in the stories that take place in the future. Although rough around the edges when it comes to grammar and sentence structure, this first published work by franklet is a wickedly joyful read. Best wishes to him in his future endeavors, which I hope to see soon!Product details

Social Networking for Demons franklet 9780692210628 Books Reviews
Just finished Social Networking for Demons and ...WOW! Where did this
guy come from? He writes like a mix of Flannery O'Conner and Sherman
Alexi with a little something new thrown in. Definitely recommend this
novel for anyone who has a jones for short stories and modern fiction.
I was drawn to this book because a lot of the stories take place in my hometown of Baton Rouge, but I was pleasantly surprised by the breadth of the stories – they canter backward and forward in time without ever losing my interest! I've never read anything else quite like it. I really hope the author keeps on writing as I'd love to read what he writes next!
A must read....I had to keep reading just couldn't put it down. You'll be captured as if you are there...
I've only read the first couple of chapters so far, so will have to return with an update, but so far, this is the work of a new kind of author, with insights and perspective you won't get anywhere else. It's fascinating, beguiling, at times hilarious, and always fresh. In short, ingenious.
If you like Carl Hiaasen, or Christopher Moore, or Christopher Buelman, this book is right up your alley.
If you're not familiar with any of the four, you're really missing out on some fun and funky modern fiction.
